State of the Bloggers

Many CTY bloggers and our lone reader gathered at the home of the Commish II this past weekend to drink beer and eat snacks, as well as watch the Cuse suck ass. I hate you Josh Wright.

Here's a summary of what went down:

Double D and the Muffinator think there should be more posts. We're not sure about what, as the only time we come up with anything remotely amusing is when there are no computers anywhere to be seen. I think we should hire a stenographer and have them take notes.

The Sweaty Meatball continues to threaten to move to NYC. Rumour has it he has requested a transfer, which he will subsequently decline when the financial terms can not be agreed upon. I expect this new employer will be highly amused by this charade. Steel has announced his intentions to hold weekly going away parties for as long as necessary in order to give this event its' proper due.

Speaking of Steel, he was putting on a good TAD impersonation for most of the night to everyone's amusement. He watches a lot of TV.

The fantasy baseball winter meetings are next Friday at the joint home of Muffin/Steel. I'm not afraid to tell anyone that will listen that my offense, headlined by Jose Reyes, A-Rod, Andruw Jones, and Miguel Cabrera, will be unstoppable next year. You don't need pitching to win in fantasy baseball.

The over/under on number of Yankees (which includes famous alum such as Gary Sheffield, Jeff Nelson, Bubba Trammell, and Randy Johnson) that Italian Sausage takes in the 07 draft has been set at 5. I'm taking the over, and here's how it will happen, in no particular order:
1. Robinson Cano (keeper, and his selection for pre-season AL MVP)
2. Philip Hughes- 5th round - (preseason selection for AL ROY)
3. Randy Johnson- 2nd round - (preseason selection for NL CY/Manager of the Year)
4. Gary Sheffield -3rd round- (preaseason Hank Aaron Award selection)
5. Tyler Clippard - 12 th round- projects as 9th starter, if MLB ever progresses toward a 9 man rotation. Currently identified as a 'prospect' for the Yankees. (preseason selection for 1st Annual Tim McCarver Award- TBD what that means, but it will likely center around being a douche. )
6. Melky Cabrera- 8th round - promises to be one of the best 4th OFers in baseball this year. A fantasy STEAL in the 8th round!
7. Bernie Williams - 14th round- despite not being on an active roster, he could be a key component of any strong fantasy bench.
8. Larry Bowa- 22nd round- rumours of a Bowa comeback will prompt Sausage to take him late as a potential keeper.

I can't wait for baseball to start. The most difficult aspect of this March, aside from the Cuse being in the NIT, will be the 30 day wait between the draft and opening day.
